What an experience! The silverback male is definitely the dominant family member. He's so powerfully built ... I'd hate to make him mad!

It is a good job he was wearing his brown shorts, truly amazing, and humbling, they obviously felt in control and unthreatened.

Makes the famous David Attenborough meeting pedestrian.

I just LOVED it when the silverback pulled the little one away at one point,

like "Okay son, that's enough"!

That guy's expressions were priceless, too... could hardly believe it was

happening to him!

Wow. He sure took the right position when they approached. Wonder if it would have been different if he looked them in the eyes. I loved the fascination with his silver hair. I think the other guy was right, the black shirt helped.

I wonder if the gorillas are in more danger if they get used to humans. That's true of wild animals in the West.
