On Easter I had One - One Quail Egg

Post by Patsy Warnick »

On Easter I found One Quail Egg in a potted plant.

I've been checking on a regular basis - Periodically there would be another Egg. At last count this morn - there's 10 Eggs.

It's very cool.

The Quail is sitting on the Eggs constantly now & they're due to hatch.

I thought Quail would lay all the Eggs at the same time.?

Who knew.??

In all the years living here on a Golf Course I've seen the new born chicks running behind the parents - they're just little cotton balls.

I've found Eggs abandoned some times.

This plant is up on a pedistal - very anxious to watch the miracle.

I think it's very cool - Odie you'd love this.

G-Gill

exactly - that's me...:wah:

I'm not sure if the chicks can get out of this planter safely.

It's deeper than your pic - and on a pedistal.

I've helped other chicks

I don't know much about Quail

but, I did learn - if I find a stray chick you cannot just place it with any group of Quail.

So, times I've had to allow it to wander in a safe direction. (I have a pool).

It takes from 3-4 weeks for them to hatch, I just thought maybe 2 weeks, but I just googled it and it says 3 to 4.

They should hatch in the next week or two as you posted seeing them April 18th.

yippee, your gonna be a mommy soon!:-6

Congrats to Me - Congrats to Me

They're Hatching at this very minute & Mom's still a sittin..

They're sooooooo very cute cotton balls.

What caught my attention was - Dad was sorta crowing, like a proud father.

I could hear this crowing & went out front and We have babies..

How cool

It's funny you asked..?

The Chicks were chirping & climbing the branches on the plant.

I put foam cushion around as the Chicks were dropping out of the plant.

Mom & Dad and @ 9 Chicks ran away from home..

Toooooo Cute
