Take a Virtual Visit to the Zoo

Post by Jazzy »

The National Zoo is home to 2,000 individual animals of nearly 400 different species. Our best known residents are our giant pandas, but great apes, big cats, Asian elephants, birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, aquatic animals, small mammals, and many others can be found at the Zoo.

You can take a virtual visit to the Zoo any day of the week by tuning into our live web cams, which feature many of the Zoo’s animals:

I'm going to have a good look at this a bit later.

Thank you so much. You made my day:-4

I didn't see any gorillas but I got to see Thalia the ferret (who is fast asleep), a Golden Lion Tamarin and an Orangutan who threw something and did pee all over the floor and left :wah:

Thanks again Jazzy. I put this in my eboard so my school kidlets can view it. They will love it.

The cams are so small, but you can zoom in and see things so much better.

I also saw the flamingos and the sleeping ferret.

I copied the zoo site to my eboard at school. The kidlets can access it at school and at home.

They were thrilled to bits with the zoo site. They love the webcams and the site for kids....puzzles and coloring pages.

I figured out how to enlarge the webcams. You right click and then click on zoom, and then you have a full page webcam. They were thrilled with the flamingos cam. I'm bringing them into the tech lab on Thursday so they can check out all the cams.

WoooHoooo...I love this zoo:-4

The pandas were out this morning sitting in the snow and eating branches. The ferret was sound asleep but looking like it's going to wake up soon. I can't believe how many Flamingos were out this morning. :-6

Watching a Clouded Leopard: The female clouded leopard on this cam gave birth to two male cubs in March 2009. The cubs have been temporarily relocated to another room that does not have cams.

the mom's enclosure is so small and it sits on concrete.:-1

she just paces.:(

Oh, my kidlets had fun, cyberly, today at the National Zoo Jazzy.

We had an opportunity to go into our tech lab and each child had access to their own computer. These kids amaze me.....9 years old and they know how to maneuver through each site, use word processors, clip art and will learn power point this year.

They loved watching the pandas, moles, lions and the house cat:D

What a wonderful site;)
