Will Kauto Star match Dessert Orchid's record?

Post by Oscar Namechange »

I bored you all silly over the rivals re-match at Cheltenham in march this year when what to me, is the greatest horse to grace British Horse-racing re-gained the Gold Cup.

On Boxing Day, he will compete to match Dessert Orchids record by winning his fourth consecutive King George Chase.

I will be there to see him again but as It stands, you will be lucky to get odds of 5/4 even at this early stage.

Get down the bookies now and ask for the best anti-post price for a sure winner on Boxing day.

Remembering how he jumped and ended striding away from rival 'Denman' by 13 lengths, I can not see any challenge to him for his record.

I just checked the Bookies. I hope you got your bets on when I first put this thread on.

Kauto Star already backed down to 10/11 Favourite.

Nothing will touch him. :guitarist:guitarist:guitarist

Word from his stables is... He's fit... at his peak and un-stoppable. His rival 'Denman' and stable mate is recovering well from his near fatal fall at Aintree earlier this year.

Ok Folks.... It's confirmed.

After 'Denmans' near fatal fall at Aintree earlier this year, he will be running in The Cheltenham Gold Cup to try to take that Gold cup back from 'Kauto Star'.

The Gold cup is not until march 2010 but 'Kauto Star' is already the favourite. Now is your time to get the best anti-post price. The nearer it gets, the odds will get shorter. 'Kauto Star' of course is looking for the record of winning the Gold Cup for the 3rd time and rival 'Denman' who 'Kauto' beat into 2nd this year, will be looking for revenge.

Kauto Star 7/4 7/4 7/4 6/4 6/4 7/4 7/4

Denman 9/2 6 7 6 6 7 5

At this stage I would reccomend a 1/2 reversed for-cast again with 'kauto star' and 'Denman'. If your looking for an outsider for a place, I will recommend 'Madison Du Berlais' . 'Forpadydeplasterer' and 'Neptune Collonges' who all ran and jumped extremely well at Cheltenham earlier in the year.

HRH The Queens horse 'Barbers shop' is entered but after what I saw at Cheltenham... i wouldn't bother !!

Will Kauto Star match Dessert Orchid's record?

Post by Oscar Namechange »

Ok... my bets are placed this morning for Boxing day.

What are the chances of a repeat of my predicting the First, second and third in order as I did in the Cheltenham Gold Cup?

Sadly, the much loved Exotic Dancer will be missing from the race after she collapsed and died at Aintree earlier this year. I will miss her absence. I saw her run many times and she was a fine Chaser and contender for a place.

News from those in the Know, is that Kauto Star is in his prime, he's fit, healthy and rearing to go to take Dessert orchids record. Denman has made a good recovery from his near fatal fall also at Aintree earlier this year.

My bets are:

1) Outright win.... Kauto Star

2) Straight Forecast.... Kauto Star and Forpaddyde Plasterer

3) Tricast fore-cast, Kauto, Paddy and Madison.

4) Denman for a place.

:driving::driving::driving:

Do not back Barbers Shop.... It may be the Queens horse but It's a muppet.

Will Kauto Star match Dessert Orchid's record?

BBC Sport - Horse Racing - Kauto Star secures thrilling win

In a jaw dropping race to line, Kauto Star just beat Imperial Commander by a nose last week. This was an excellent excercise for him to get ready for the big one on boxing day where I will be at Kempton to see him take The King George Stakes for the Fourth time, equally the Mighty Desert Orchids record of the greatest British race-horse. After Kempton, Kauto is to rest up until March where he will compete for his 3rd Gold Cup Victory at Cheltenham.

God Speed Kauto.

Double Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Kauto Star earned his third Betfair Chase win at Haydock after a thrilling photo-finish win over Imperial Commander.

The winner, ridden by Ruby Walsh looked to have made a decisive move two fences from home on his seasonal comeback.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Imperial Commander and jockey Paddy Brennan dug deep and threw down the gauntlet to Kauto on the run-in.

But as the pair dived for the line, Kauto got up to win by a nose.

After Madison du Berlais faded out of contention on the back straight, it was left to Imperial Commander, on his first run over three miles, and Kauto Star to battle it out in the testing conditions.

But the odds-on favourite dug deep to follow up his 2006 and 2007 victories and put him on course for another Cheltenham Gold Cup challenge.

"He really needed that run," said his delighted trainer Paul Nicholls. "I thought he might get tired on the run-in but he just keeps finding more."

"This is the first of our three targets for the season - the King George VI Stakes at Kempton on Boxing Day and Cheltenham but I didn't want him to go to Kempton without a run."

606: DEBATE

Kauto has got everything - Speed, class, acceleration, stag-like jumping prowess and courage by the bucket load.

EH

Walsh added: "He's always digs this horse - he's an incredible horse. He feels as good as last year.

"I did think we were beaten and the second is an improving horse. He just got tired going to the last and then he has dug deep to hang on.
