I accidentally found this artist, Michael Najjar. Apparently he takes photos then alters them digitally to make his art. Here's a mountainscape he altered to match the Nasdaq chart 1980-2009.

Odd concept - the financial landscape of America.

Shouldn't the peaks be overheating and the valleys the frozen cracks of doom
