I like the song Somewhere Over the Rainbow, because it gives a lot of people a lot of hope in their life or lives. I get a tear in my eye everytime I hear it. 'What is your favorite song?

I don't really have a fav song because different songs affect different moods. The first singer that came up when I read this was James Taylor. I love his stuff because it tells a story. Right now, Handyman is running in my head.

:guitarist

Hey girls, gather round

Listen to what I'm putting down

Hey baby, I'm your handyman

I'm not the kind to use a pencil or rule

I'm handy with love and I'm no fool

I fix broken hearts, I know that I truly can

If your broken heart should need repair

Then I am the man to see

I whisper sweet things, you tell all your friends

They'll come runnin' to me

Here is the main thing that I want to say

I'm busy 24 hours a day

I fix broken hearts, I know that I truly can

Come-a, come-a, come-a, come-a, come, come

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Come-a, come-a, come-a, come-a, come, come, come

They'll come runnin' to me

Here is the main thing I want to say

I’m busy 24 hours a day

I fix broken hearts, baby I’m your handyman

Come-a, come-a, come-a, come-a, come, come

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Come-a, come-a, come-a, come-a, come, come, come

Yeah, yeah, yeah

I've always loved the song by Pearl Jam called "Better Man". It's a snapshot of a woman in a bad marriage who feels she can't do any better than what she's got.

It's a searing look at somebody's pain :-1

"Better Man"

Waitin', watchin' the clock, it's four o'clock, it's got to stop

Tell him, take no more, she practices her speech

As he opens the door, she rolls over...

Pretends to sleep as he looks her over

She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Ohh...

Talkin' to herself, there's no one else who needs to know...

She tells herself, oh...

Memories back when she was bold and strong

And waiting for the world to come along...

Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone

She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Yeah...

She loved him, yeah... she don't want to leave this way

She feeds him, yeah... that's why she'll be back again

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better... man...

November Rain or Everybody Hurts
"Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars. Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, 'I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight', people would say, 'Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth.' " Michael Jackson

The man who wrote this song, wrote it to honor his son, born with Down Syndrome. I love it as it reminds me very much of a young man I once worked with.

SCORN NOT HIS SIMPLICITY

(Phil Coulter / Bill Martin)

Recorded by : Paddy Reilly; Sinead O'Conner; The Dubliners; Phil Coulter; The Irish Tenors; Eamonn McGirr.

See the child

With the golden hair

Yet eyes that show the emptiness inside

Do we know

Can we understand just how he feels

Or have we really tried

See him now

As he stands alone

And watches children play a children's game

Simple child

He looks almost like the others

Yet they know he's not the same

Scorn not his simplicity

But rather try to love him all the more

Scorn not his simplicity

Oh no

Oh no

See him stare

Not recognizing the kind face

That only yesterday he loved

The loving face

Of a mother who can't understand what she's been guilty of

How she cried, tears of happiness

the day the doctor told her it's a boy

Now she cries tears of helplessness

and thinks of all the things he can't enjoy

Scorn not his simplicity

But rather try to love him all the more

Scorn not his simplicity

Oh no

Oh no

Only he knows how to face the future hopefully

Surrounded by despair

He won't ask for your pity or your sympathy

But surely you should care

Scorn not his simplicity

But rather try to love him all the more

Scorn not his simplicity

Oh no

Oh no

Oh no
