How to clean a syrup spill?

Post by Accountable »

I moved recently, and have a problem in the kitchen, ta small cabinet above the stove has what looks like an old syrup spill that has dried nearly hard. I was going to put some dishes we never use but keep anyway (we're packrats) up there, but the spill ....

Any ideas how to clean it? if it was a removeable shelf, I'd just douse it with water until all the syrup dissolved, but I was hoping someone here had some tips, please?

You could put a puppy in the cupboard to lick it clean for you. :D

i would just take a cloth with hot water, and keep scrubbing it until it's dissolved.

hot water on a rag over and over works best, but if shelf is removable just rinse it under hot water, if big shelf take it to the bath tub

If it's gone rock hard, try scraping with a wallpaper scraper or similar tool. A wet cloth might soften the edges.
