DES MOINES, Iowa -- Police have located the car that was described in an Amber Alert issued Friday morning.
A green 1998 Toyota Corolla was found abandoned in northwest Van Buren County. The Ottumwa Police Department has requested the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation in the case.
An Amber Alert was issued for a 9-year-old Gloria Bonilla Lopez, of Ottumwa. She remains missing.
Lopez was last seen wearing light blue pants, blue shirt and pink shoes. She has shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes and is 5 feet tall.
She was last seen between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at Ottumwa Elementary School. Authorities said Lopez was taken by 29-year-old Brendan Bhanvan Stanley.
In July 23, 2004, Stanley was charged with criminal aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm in New Mexico, according to police records.
Authorities said they believe Stanley could be headed to New Mexico.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Police said a girl and a man who touched off an Amber Alert Friday have been found in Van Buren County.
The suspect's green 1998 Toyota Corolla was found abandoned in northwest Van Buren County. The Ottumwa Police Department had requested the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation in the case.
An Amber Alert had been issued for a 9-year-old Gloria Bonilla Lopez, of Ottumwa.
She was last seen between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. at Ottumwa Elementary School. Police and family members said 29-year-old Brendan Bhanvan Stanley was waiting on the corner for her bus Friday morning.
Lopez's aunt said Stanley stopped at the corner and whispered something to Lopez. Investigators said Lopez got into his car and never made it to school.
Authorities said Stanley, an acquaintance of the Lopez family, is a former school employee who worked there as an interpreter.
In July 23, 2004, Stanley was charged with criminal aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm in New Mexico, according to police records.
Police said Lopez was going to be checked out at a hospital, and then would be reunited with her family in Ottumwa.
There is no word yet on what charges would be filed against Stanley.
