I hadn't even realised that you could play in the arcade as a guest.

The signs are almost conclusive - I'm happy to say goodbye

Sky in Mangotsfield makes it very likely.

The username was registered eight days ago, that might be "some time".

I, personally, cannot see what's wrong, but there must be a reason best known to those in charge, for reporting this particular post or particular poster. Perhaps somebody could enlighten me ? Has this poster got an alias that may be more familiar to us ordinary members ?

It's like being given an animal and asked whether it's a mammal or a gastropod.

Well you've gotta give 8/10 for tryin' ain'tcha ? I think she imagines that you and spot have got your heads in the sand ! Perhaps she doesn't realise that there is such a thing as IP's no matter how many different names you conjure up ! I used to be a friend of hers several years ago, till I was threatened by her, such a nasty wicked threat as well. Persona non grata as far as I am concerned.

What I could do this time, instead of an account ban, is flag the account "Coventry" rather than miserable. She can continue posting onto the site but only her logged in account will get her posts shown, she'll be invisible to everyone else. ForumGarden has used it twice in the past but it was a long time ago. Both posters stopped when they were ignored.

"Tachy Goes to Coventry" is a feature in vBulletin 3. Some people call it the hellban. Basically what it does is have people it is assigned to completely ignored in the forums. Their posts, threads and so forth are never seen by regular users.

and http://www.managingcommunities.com/2009 ... -use-them/ is more background. Coventry is a global ignore list.

Right, this is what it looks like.

To all regular users or anyone not logged in or spiders, every Coventry post is invisible. If the first post of a thread is a Coventry post the thread's invisible.

To all mods, the post is visible but says " The administrator has decided that Night Watchman should be quiet for a while", and there's a View Post link to bring up the content for anyone interested.

To the poster, the post looks normal.

I just rebuilt the thread and forum indexes, something I've not done for quite a while.

Pah. You can't set ignore on an Admin. People have tried and people have failed.
