Saturday Night TV (UK)

<t>Exactly what audience demographic do the people who schedule Saturday night have in mind? An absolute insult to the intelligence: talent(less) shows like The X Factor and Pap Stars, Pleb Party Special usually with Ant and Dreck or Ian Wright (at least Noel Edmonds is safely out to pasture), repea...

America Is The Moral Leader In The World

<t>I think that Randall has said it all - speaking as a non American I have to say that, without wishing to cause offence, I found the top post here naive, patronising and borderline offensive in itself; the type of naked jingoism that fortunately we in Britain (and it has to be said most people in ...

Lilac Wine by Jeff Buckley (someone covered it recently, not sure who though...)

"Those smalltown eyes will gape at you

In dull surprise when payment due

Exceeds accounts received"

Memeory's of the 90's

<r>I grew up in a small town on the north west coast of England and oh yes - 1992-1995, wish I could go back there! <br/> <br/> Started going out of a night aged 15 in 92 - "no more than four pints and home by one o'clock" (both roundly ignored but both me and my parents kept up the pretence) - drin...

What are you reading now?

"Filth" by Irvine Welsh. Got over the fact that it's written largely in Scottish dialect by almost hearing myself say the words as they appear on the page (people who've read any of Welsh's work might know what I mean?...)

The Worst Job EVER

<t>Can't compare with performing daily royal stoolectomies, but one Summer holiday in my fast retreating Uni days I got a job working telesales for a certain home security company who later had the "honour" of appearing on the BBC's "Rogue Traders" programme. To my knowledge the firm is still going ...

Heh! Thanks again folks: well I'm 28 (thankyou Diane, v flattered lol!) and the tag comes from the title of a song by Jim O'Rourke (best known as "that bloke out of Sonic Youth").

By the way, my toilet seat is pristine :D

Does this Poll Reflect FG Britons?

<t>Not in the slightest, to quote Ben Franklin: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both".<br/> <br/> Exactly how will the likes of ID cards, for instance, stop suicide bombers? Does anybody really think that, stopped by the police...

<r>Hello there from that quaint little hamlet in the shadow of the Pennines called Manchester. About me: well I'm just hanging on to the "in my twenties" tag and work as a marketing manager (for my sins - until reality bit I used to be with Bill Hicks on the topic of marketing, ah well life's rich t...
